Epic26 E.P. Launch Party

Epic26 E.P. Cover Art

Over the last few months we have been busy working with the guys in Epic26. Hopefully you have been following along, have caught them live and\or received some preview tracks from their new self titled E.P.  Which, now complete will be released on Mon 8th June.

In celebration of the E.P. release we are hosting a launch party on Sat June 6th @ Edinburgh’s newest venue Electric Circus. We were down there earlier in the week and they have really made an amazing job of the refit (it used to be the club Massa) lots of personality in the decor, a great lighting rig, A.V. equipment I haven’t even seen in a venue before and most importantly a serious P.A. system!

Joining Epic26 on the night will be Edinburgh clubbing phenomena Tokyo Blu whose remix of Epic26’s “Sorry It Hurts” features on the E.P. Also featuring on the E.P. as a bonus is one of Tokyo Blu’s original tracks. Which is kind of a unusual thing to do but we feel that by introducing Epic26’s fans to Tokyo Blu’s music we are contributing to strengthening the music community in Edinburgh.

Everybody who buys a ticket to the launch party will receive a copy of Epic26’s new CD on the door. You can get your ticket at the advance price of £5 via the widget at the bottom of this post.

This is obviously an important night for Fredag & Epic26 and we would love to see you all there to share in this celebration of a record we are all very proud of.

All the best

David

Looking Back, Looking Forward

Hello and Welcome to 2009,

Happy new year everyone! I hope most of your hangovers have faded by now, though if you were at the Epic26 party then probably not!

2008 was full of ups and downs but mostly ups thankfully. It was a busy year for Fredag with many many gigs and lots of hard work in the studio which resulted in Any Color Black’s first record the “Touch Me EP” and the completion of Epic26’s new record which will be released in Q1 this year.

Any Color Black has produced a cool short video to profile their 2008 :

Any Color Black are kicking of a UK tour of the O2 Academy venues @ the Glasgow Academy on Sat 17th Jan, you can get your tickets from the band by email or here.

Thanks to our artists, partners and the fans who have supported us in 2008 and I hope to see you all at our first shows of 2009.

All the best

David

Epic26 - In the studio

We are currently in the studio with Epic26 recording their new EP with Bootcamp Recordings. Its going really well and we are getting some great tracks down. Check out their myspace blog posts to keep up on the progress.  Expect the release in the first quarter of 2009.

Any Color Black - Touch Me EP

Any Color Black will release their debut EP ‘Touch Me’ on December 1st. The artwork and video was created with audience members at a live music event earlier in the year.

Taking the title of the EP as inspiration, audience members were photographed and then made into a collage for the front cover. Fans were also asked to submit their own footage taken on the night through a bluetooth receiver.

An electro rock duo from Glasgow, consisting of Louise and Andy, their ‘house-rock’ sound developed from their meeting at 4am one morning on Glasgow’s Buchanan Street while in search of some post drink snacks and a taxi home. Having recently supported Ladyhawke and Goose, they will play the Buff Club and The Mill before a Academy Live tour at the beginning of 2009.

All the details on the Touch Me EP including the artwork in all its full glory can be found on the www.TouchMeEP.com mini site.
